Description

A handsome two-volume first edition of "The DiMaggio Albums," published by G. P. Putnam's Sons in 1989, with introduction and commentaries by Joe DiMaggio himself. Compiled by Richard Whittingham, the set traces DiMaggio's career from his minor league beginnings through his retirement from the Yankees, illustrated throughout with photographs, newspaper clippings, and archival ephemera drawn from public and private collections. Bound in dark blue cloth with gilt titles and marbled endpapers, the volumes are housed in their original red gilt-lettered slipcase featuring a color photo of the "Yankee Clipper" at the plate.
