Lot 166: Signed Studio Pottery Vessel Blue & Cream Glaze

Description

Hand-thrown studio pottery planter with a flared rim, glazed in a soft cream tone at the top transitioning to a mottled powder-blue band around the body, finished with a simple carved crosshatch/wave motif near the base. The unglazed foot shows the natural stoneware clay body. The base is signed, appearing to read "Maidelle" or similar, along with a date of "85" (1985), though the exact artist name is difficult to confirm with certainty from the impressed signature. Measures approximately 5.25" H x 7" W. A nice example of studio pottery, well suited for use as a planter or decorative accent piece.
