Description

Hand-painted Tonalá pottery vase from Mexico, featuring a ruffled turquoise rim above a cream ground decorated with a whimsical owl, a large daisy-like flower with a long trailing stem, and scattered dot and scroll motifs in turquoise, lavender, and black. The base is signed "Vicman Mexico" with a numbered "7." Tonalá ware, from Tonalá, Jalisco, is a centuries-old Mexican folk pottery tradition known for its burnished finishes and charming hand-painted animal and floral imagery, popular with collectors of Mexican folk art and mid-century tourist pottery. Measures approximately 8.5" H x 4.5" W.

Condition:

Good vintage condition. Wear commensurate with age, including light glaze wear/soiling to the unglazed footring (see photos). No cracks, chips, or losses noted. Please review photos closely; we do our best to catch all flaws but small imperfections can be missed.
