Pair of hand-formed rustic metal wall candle sconces made in Mexico. Each sconce is fashioned from a single wavy, scallop-edged sheet of metal that curves into a tapered cone/tube form at one end, holding a round drip-pan candle base fitted with a center spike (pricket-style, meant to skewer a candle rather than hold it in a socket). Each piece has a hanging loop/ring on the reverse for wall mounting. The metal has an oxidized, deep rust-brown patina throughout, consistent with age and the type of untreated sheet metal traditionally used in Mexican folk-art lighting and décor from the mid-to-late 20th century. This scroll-form pricket-sconce style is a recognized category among Mexican folk art metalwork collectors, with comparable rustic scroll-design pairs appearing on secondary markets such as Chairish and 1stDibs.
