A Copeland Spode covered vegetable dish in the "Romney" pattern, English earthenware marked "Copeland Spode, Great Britain, Romney" on the reverse, matching the floral transferware pattern of the Romney plate set earlier in this collection. The rectangular dish stands on four scrolled feet with a gadrooned rim, and the domed lid is topped with a floral-form finial decorated in the same soft polychrome palette as the allover Romney floral motif. A useful serving piece for anyone building out a Romney pattern service, or a handsome stand-alone covered dish for a collector of English transferware.
