An original pen-and-ink or pencil drawing of a flowering rose branch, depicting several full blooms and buds among leaves, rendered entirely in fine linear crosshatching that gives the petals and foliage a sculptural, dimensional quality. Signed "J. Derman" in pencil at lower right. I was unable to locate any auction record or documented biography for an artist working under this signature, so this should be treated as an unattributed original rather than a work by a market-tracked artist — though the confident, controlled linework indicates a trained hand, well above amateur skill level. The reverse carries a vintage art-paper label ("Designer Series, Ermine-White") and a "San Diego Frame" stamp, suggesting a mid-20th-century Southern California origin and professional framing at the time it was made. Presented under glass with a silver-toned inner frame and linen mat, in an outer black frame.
