Lot 73: Antique Burmese Kalaga Tapestry
Description
Beautiful antique textile featuring elephants, deities and stars. Meticulously and heavily embroidered, mirrored, and sequined. The elephants and deities are appliqued and stuffed creating a 3 dimensional effect. Textile is in great condition, one bead has fallen to the bottom of the shadow box frame. The frame itself is not in great shape, as a former picture framer, I have never seen a shadow box made this way, which is to say, poorly. Can ship with or without the frame, local pick up for frame preferred. 35” long x 22 1/2” tall x 2” deep.
